Production:  "New Haven & Israel- A Half Century Full of Hope"
Client: New Haven Jewish Federation

Communications Objective:
As part of a year long celebration to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the State of Israel, the Jewish Federation requested a video that would tell the story of the Jewish State's first 50 years, and in particular, the significant roles that many members of the Jewish Community in greater New Haven, Connecticut, played in those first 50 years. The Federation wanted the video to be educational and motivational, so that it could be played at a variety of public functions and fundraisers.

Solution:
We interviewed more than 20 local New Haven residents who directly -- or indirectly through efforts of their relatives -- contributed to Israel's history and evolution. Some interviewees fought as military volunteers in various wars and conflicts to defend Israel. Others orchestrated mammoth fund raising efforts to support the war efforts and to rescue Jews from lands where they were in peril and airlift them to safety in Israel. Still others had personal ties to people to gave of their time and lost their lives in support of Israel. The story is told entirely by these interviews, with no added narration.

Tech Specs:
We supplemented the interviews with extensive historical and news footage from ABC, World News, and the United Jewish Appeal's archives. We also integrated animation effects based on stills of personal photographs and memorabilia of our interviewees.
