Harder & Company offers complete in-house capabilities
to ensure that each production reaches the highest standards of creativity and quality,
while meeting the tightest of budgets and deadlines.
Production- Studio
& Location Shooting
We offer comprehendsive film and video production... we have been doing it professionally
since 1976. In the recent past most shoots have originated on Beta SP using a wide
variety of broadcast cameras. DVCam and 16mm film packages are also available. Some
of the high-end productions have utilized Digital Betacam both in shooting and the
final edit (See GE Info Security.) We have shot all over the United States and in
France, Great Britain, Gibraltar and Italy...
- Emphasis on careful preproduction planning,
including pre-interviewing and scouting locations ensures cost- and time effective
shoots.
- On long form projects that depend on interviews
we will often go back to get B-Roll after the paper cut and first edit assembly.
- We use mini-jibs, Jimmy Jibs and Steadicam
as the project requires.
- Freelance production personnel from Connecticut
and New York are often part of Harder & Company shoots and we have coordinated
crews and equipment for out of state production companies and clients.

Non-linear Video
Editing
We utilize the Media 100 Macintosh-based non-linear editing system. The Media 100
is a proven, highly reliable system which enables Harder & Company to provide
you with all the benefits of non-linear video editing, plus the superior traits of
the Media 100 including:
- The creative flexibility to assemble and
rearrange scenes at will, to experiment and explore all options and see the results
immediately.
- The ability to go from rough cut to finished
product in less time, which in turn means less overall cost.
- 8 audio channels for soundtracks that complement
high end visual production.
- Mastering to tape on Beta SP for broadcast
quality 300 kb.
- Ultimatte Software for Green and Blue Screen

Computer Graphics
and Animation
We utilize the Adobe System (Illustrator, Photoshop, and After Effects) and Infini-D
and other 3-D software to enhance your visual productions with high end 2D and 3D
graphics and animations -- quickly, easily, and affordably. Our services are more
cost effective than Paintbox and other traditional graphics processes. And, with
our graphics and video editing suites side by side, when a graphic idea comes up,
we can immediately try it out and combine it with the footage being edited. So, if
you can dream it, we can do it. In fact, we can dream it for you, if you wish, because
our graphics professionals are artists, not just technicians, and their creativity
is at your disposal.
