Writer: Ken Devoe
Professional History
Ken Devoe is president and founder of The Media Tree, Inc. Before forming the company,
Ken spent nearly 20 years in radio as an on-air personality, program director and
writer and producer of commercials for stations in Hartford, New Haven, and Bridgeport,
Connecticut. Ken was also the creative director of a leading production company in
Connecticut before setting up his own company.
Ken's advertising copy has received awards from the Connecticut Art Director's Club,
the Hartford Ad Club, the Advertising Club of Fairfield County, the New York Advertising
Club, the Retail Advertising Conference, and the Clio Awards. A/V, multi-image, video
and film presentations he has written have been similarly honored by the Association
of Multi-Image / International, the International Film & Video Festival, the
Telly Awards, the Communicator Awards, and other prestigious competitions.
Ken is also an experienced executive speechwriter and presentation consultant, having
worked with senior executives at major corporations such as IBM.
Ken graduated from Yale University in 1969 and did post-graduate work at the Radio
& TV Department of the Graduate School of Indiana University. He has taught Broadcast
Writing and Production at the University of Hartford and currently teaches copywriting
at the Connecticut School of Broadcasting as well as courses in advertising and mass
media at Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, Connecticut. Ken is also Chairman
of the Board of Governors of the Yale Broadcasting Company, the licensee of WYBC-AM
and WYBC-FM, the non-profit, student-run radio stations at Yale University.
